A video of a loved one will be a treasured archive for generations to come. You'll preserve favorite family stories through interviews and photos, in addition to a cultural and historical record as you document a life story.
Tell the story of a year (or other timeframe) in the life of your child or grandchild by putting all those photos and videos to good use. Great for birthdays or Christmas!
Share the story of your organization to keep your supporters or clients informed through vibrant videos. There is no better way to highlight your success than through visual storytelling.
Select the best photos from all those thousands you have taken, and have them made into a keepsake photobook. It's a great way to document those milestone moments in family life or to remember every moment of that fabulous trip.
Painting a picture with words is the old-fashioned way to describe a person or project, but it doesn't have to be any less vibrant than video! Have a profile written to tell that special story.
Having a simple, easy-to-navigate website that provides optimal viewing, no matter the device, is crucial these days. More than 50% of web searches originate on mobile devices now and that number will only grow. Make sure you are telling
your story in the most attractive and
accessible way possible.
The founders of StoryPortrait have enjoyed careers creating videos, photobooks, articles, and responsive web designs for public and private institutions. We have decided it's time to do those very same things,
but now by collaborating directly with folks to tell their stories!
Our mission is to help you tell your story.
A great part of the fun of creating projects like the ones offered by StoryPortrait is working with people to help them shape the stories they have to tell (everyone has stories to tell!) and we enjoy seeing the benefits our clients derive
from having their stories well told.
Benefits may come in the form of delighting family members who now have an archive of important family history and memories, or keepsakes of important milestones, or it may be by increasing business or donor support through good web promotion
or persuasive writing.
"I wouldn't trade our legacy video of my mother for anything! Her children and grandchildren, and now great-grandchildren can enjoy old family stories, and her memory lives on. Miriam really captured her essence and did a great job
illustrating her life and times with old photos, music, and videos. What a family treasure!"
I had the opportunity to work closely with Miriam when our unit, the Office of the Vice Provost for the Arts, contracted with her to write several artists' profiles. It was clear that she had an immediate affinity for how to get to
the heart of the artists’ stories, their creative drives and motivations, just what we wanted. She easily established rapport, which showed in the compelling profiles. Miriam is very easy to work with, meets deadlines without fail,
and has a passion for writing about the arts.
Miriam is a superb interviewer. She asks the right questions, and she asks them in a manner that shows genuine, compassionate interest. The video she made for us looks and sounds wonderful! She was able to create a piece that captures the fun, spirit, and purpose of our project.
